PowerWash Simulator has a few different cleaning modes from which to choose. One of those categories is called “Specials,” and the jobs see you cleaning everything from a gnome fountain to a locomotive. A genuinely out-of-this-world level even takes you to the Red Planet to clean the Mars Rover and the Mystery Hatch.
Where is the Mystery Hatch on the Mars Rover in PowerWash Simulator?
The Mars Rover is fairly self-explanatory to clean. However, there is one other thing you’ll need to clean for this level: the Mystery Hatch. This is the tricky part because it’s not actually on the Mars Rover but a few feet away from it. You can find it by following the trail of footprints in the sand.
If you open the level details menu once you arrive on the fourth rock from the Sun and scroll to the bottom, you’ll see the Mystery Hatch listed as the last item to power wash, netting you $0.50 for getting it clean. However, it’s not actually part of the rover itself, so don’t waste your time pouring over the ROV looking for it. Don’t worry, though: it’s nearby.
Climb on top of the rover and look in the direction of its front-facing camera. To the left of that, you’ll see a small pyramidal structure just over a few small hills in the distance. If you follow the alien footprints on the ground leading away from the rover, they’ll lead you right to the mysterious Hatch. I’d never thought I’d see a garden gnome on Mars, but there’s one standing guard beside the Hatch. It’s a good indication that you’re in the right place. (More of these iconic gnomes can be seen in various levels as Easter eggs throughout the game).
How to Clean the Mystery Hatch
The Mystery Hatch has some rust and greenish stains. To complete the level, you’ll want to spray all that off so it’s shiny again. You can switch to your yellow nozzle to speed things up. You’ll complete the job in no time, considering you’ve cleaned the rest of the rover already.
Unfortunately, you don’t get the chance to open up the hatch and go inside it. There’s no telling where the mysterious hatch leads. I’d love to see an extra Easter egg allowing us to climb down into a secret alien bunker or Martian metropolis deep underground. Alas, PowerWash Simulator doesn’t let you explore what else might need cleaning in such a place (but there’s always room for a PowerWash Simulator DLC!).
