Even though Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 Remix released a month ago, it looks like another remix is on the horizon: Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 Remix. Announced earlier today, the game will come out sometime in 2014 exclusive to the PlayStation 3.
Like its predecessor, KH HD 2.5 Remix will be a collection of three games previously released in the series, with the main one being Kingdom Hearts II: Final Mix – an expanded version of KH2 released exclusively in Japan for PS2. Also included is the PSP’s Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep: Final Mix (also originally exclusive to Japan), as well as the cutscenes from Kingdom Hearts Re:coded – a Nintendo DS remake which was originally on mobile phones.
Each game will feature revamped HD graphics and adjustments to gameplay. While I’m sure fans are excited for the game’s release, Alice O’Connor of ShackNews.com makes an interesting point: with Kingdom Hearts III coming out on PS4 and Xbox One, why not also release the game on the PS4?
What about you? Are you excited to finally be able to play KH2: Final Mix? What do you think about their decision to release it as a PS3 exclusive? Let me know in the comments below!
