Creepy Jar’s open-world survival game Green Hell is getting a new prequel update on January 28. Called Spirits of Amazonia Part One, the free update acts as a prequel to the events of the base game.
As expected, key story details are scant, but Creepy Jar released a trailer for the Spirits of Amazonia that gives a little more insight into what fans can expect later this month.
Creepy Jar says that the update will include four new Legendary Quests full of puzzles, as well as the addition of a new map, a new mushroom type, a poisonous tree, and a new craftable building item, the balcony.
Spirits of Amazonia will have three parts when all is said and done. According to Creepy Jar’s Green Hell roadmap, Part One is arriving almost in the middle of its “Winter” release window. Part Two and Part Three are due sometime this spring and summer.
There’s currently no word on how long the first part of the free update will be.
Green Hell released in Steam Early Access back in 2018 before hitting 1.0 in the latter portion of 2019. It’s currently available on PC and Nintendo Switch. VR support for the game is coming in 2021, though there is no firm window as of this writing. The PlayStation 4 and Xbox One ports are due in early 2021 according to the roadmap. Stay tuned.
