Resident Evil 4 Remake: How to Get Infinite Ammo

Never want to run out of bullets in Resident Evil 4 remake? Find out how to get infinite ammo here.

Having infinite ammo in Resident Evil 4 remake means you won’t ever have to worry about how many bullets it takes to kill Chainsaw Guy or any other enemy you face. While it can trivialize a first playthrough, unlimited ammo can spice up subsequent playthroughs in New Game+.

Most methods for unlocking infinite ammo in RE4 remake involve completing increasingly difficult challenges. Even then, you only get a bottomless mag in a single unlocked bonus weapon.

There is one exception: the Cat Ears, which give every standard weapon (save the Rocket Launcher) infinite ammo. Here’s how to get all these unlocks.

How to Get the Infinite Durability Primal Knife

The Primal Knife is a blade with infinite durability — it will never break, no matter how many enemies you slice open with it. Its associated challenge is probably the easiest of all infinite ammo tasks: simply find all 16 Clockwork Castellans throughout the game, and it’s yours.

How to Get the Infinite Ammo Rocket Launcher

To get the Rocket Launcher with infinite rockets, start a new playthrough using your completed game save (NG+), then head to any Merchant stall. He’ll be selling it for the modest price of 2 million Pesetas. With the Rocket Launcher being one of if not the most powerful weapons in the game, the price might be well worth the time it takes to gather all those funds.

How to Get the Infinite Ammo Handcannon

To get the Handcannon, you first need to complete the entire game. Then, you need to complete a playthrough on the grueling Professional difficulty without using any bonus weapons. You can use your completed game save for this, and while you can’t get an S+ rank for doing so, you’ll have your full gear set from the first campaign to help you along.

How to Get the Infinite Ammo Chicago Sweeper

You may earn the Chicago Sweeper during your playthrough for the Handcannon, as “all” you need to do is complete a Professional playthrough with an A ranking. The only limitation is that you need to finish the game in under seven hours.

Not a terribly difficult task by Professional difficulty standards, but certainly not easy either. There’s no restriction on bonus gear for this challenge, so if you want, you can go into NG+ with a Primal Knife and Infinite Rocket Launcher and blast your way through.

How to Get the Cat Ears

Here’s where the real challenge lies. To get the Cat Ears in Resident Evil 4 remake and earn infinite ammo for every weapon save the standard Rocket Launcher, you need to complete Professional Mode with an S+ rank. To do that, you must complete the campaign in under five and a half hours, all while using 15 or fewer saves.

That time is doable if you’re playing optimally, killing only what you need to kill, beating bosses quickly, and being smart about your upgrades and inventory. A few mistakes, however, will cost you, and if you falter at the final hurdle, you’ll need to do it all again.

Getting infinite ammo in Resident Evil 4 remake is not the easiest task. Depending on how far you want to take it, it can be one of the hardest challenges to complete.
