New Scarlet and Violet DLC Pokemon Revealed in Pokemon Horizons Anime

A mysterious, unnamed Pokemon has appeared in Pokemon Horizons and it's set to arrive in Scarlet & Violet with the upcoming DLC.

The first two episodes of Pokemon Horizons have aired, giving us a taste of what to expect from the new animated series following the finale of Pokemon Ultimate Journeys. This includes all-new characters and a newly introduced Pokemon that is set to make an appearance in the Hidden Treasure of Area Zero DLC for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, as confirmed on the official Pokemon Twitter account.

We’ve met our new heroes, Liko and her partner Sprigatito, the Grass-type starter in the Paldea region. Prior to the series debut, the significance of Liko’s pendant was teased, and we now have some insight into its connection with a mysterious new Pokemon, which seems to spawn from the pendant.

The newly revealed Pokemon remains unnamed and bears an uncanny resemblance to Terapagos, the Legendary Pokemon we’ll encounter in the second half of the DLC, entitled The Indigo Disk. It will be a while until we receive this installment, so it’s likely that the new Pokemon will maintain its air of mystery for at least a few more months.

However, franchise fans have been quick to hypothesize its relationship with Liko’s pendant and the Legendary Pokemon, Terapagos. The most compelling fan theory maintains that Terapagos takes on a role similar to those described in creation myths, wherein the world is created on the back of a turtle.

Some fans have gone so far as to place the in-game map of Paldea over Terapagos, and the two images do fit undeniably well. Despite this, fans are now having trouble finding a way to tie in Liko’s pendant and its connection to the new Pokemon, so it’s back to the drawing board.

While these theories are purely speculative, it does give us something to chew on until we receive more information about the new Pokemon in Pokemon Horizons and its place in the Hidden Treasure of Area Zero DLC, coming to Pokemon Scarlet and Violet later this year.
