Prepare For Knightfall With This Batman: Return to Arkham Pre-Order Guide

Fans of the Caped Crusader can bring his greatest video game adventures onto current-gen consoles with Batman: Return to Arkham. Here is a guide to the game's pre-order options.

Remasters and compilations are becoming commonplace on the current generation of consoles. Games like Resident Evil 4 and The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim are among the many slated for updated releases on the PS4 and Xbox One. And with the upcoming compilation Batman: Return to Arkham, arguably two of the best Batman games — and superhero games, for that matter — will be following the trend.

Although WB Games delayed the game past its original release date of July 26th and has yet to announce a new date, the game is still available for pre-order through major retailers. GameStop, Best Buy, and Amazon are all promoted on the game’s official website, and all three retailers are offering the game for the same price: $49.99.

Better yet, there doesn’t appear to be any special editions of the game to worry about (at least not as of now), as every copy of Batman: Return to Arkham includes absolutely complete editions of Batman: Arkham Asylum and Batman: Arkham City. This means that Xbox users will get their first opportunity to experience the Joker challenge maps in Arkham Asylum, originally offered first on PS3.

As for console exclusives, a thread on Reddit suggests that, at least before the game’s delay, the Xbox Store would offer codes for Batmobile and Batarang avatar props as a digital pre-order bonus. As of this writing, the game is not yet listed on the PlayStation Network — nor are any extras.

At the moment, it’s just a matter of personal preference when it comes to where or how interested fans should pre-order Batman: Return to Arkham. The price is consistent across the board, both for physical and digital copies, and no one source is offering any interesting tie-ins at the moment. Hopefully for Batman fans, the game’s release date is announced soon.
