Popplio is the water starter Pokemon in Sun and Moon, and now has the Spotlight Hour in Pokemon Go. The last of the Alolan starters to get the limelight, Popplio will appear more frequently during its Spotlight Hour. Here are the full details.
All Details for the Popplio Spotlight Hour Event
The Popplio Spotlight Hour Event will take place on March 28, 2023 between 6 p.m. and 7 p.m.
During this hour Popplio will appear with increased frequency and respond more to Incense. It will also appear at normally inactive spawn points in the game. Double XP will be rewarded during this hour, making it the best time to use any Lucky Eggs you may have.
Through the Spotlight Hour event, two other events will still be running.
- Pokemon Go Let’s GO 2023 Event
- Ditto has an increased encounter rate and will now appear as:
- Diglett
- Grimer
- Snubbull
- Corphish
- Starly
- Roggenrola
- Tympole
- Litleo
- Meltan can be Shiny and has an increased chance of finding XXS and XXL Meltan
- Meltan-themed Collection Challenge
- Mystery Boxes can be opened more often
- Pansage, Pansear, and Panpour will appear globally
- Double Transfer Candy
- Ditto has an increased encounter rate and will now appear as:
- Team GO Rocket Takeover
- Shadow Regice will be available to encounter after using a Super Rocket Radar

- Absol
- Skorupi
- Sandile
- Scraggy
- Pawniard
- Vullaby
- Deino
- Pancham
- Skrelp
- Salandit
- New Shadow Pokemon:
- Alolan Grimer

- Pokemon rescued from Team GO Rocket Grunts can be Shiny
- Team Go Rocket Leaders have different Pokemon in battle
