Dead Island 2 is finally approaching the finish line after many years in development. With the zombie co-op shooter recently getting its release date pushed up a week, publisher Deep Silver has unveiled the last in its lineup of Slayers that you can control. Named Bruno, this final character will come equipped with the innate abilities of “Backstab,” and “Rapid Reprisal.” You can catch a quick glimpse of these abilities in action in his brief trailer.

Bruno joins the cast of characters that have previously been announced for Dead Island 2, which includes Amy, Carla, Dani, Jacob, and Ryan. All six feature unique abilities that allow you to partake in different playstyles across your journey. Mixing and matching abilities with your friends will help you overcome the zombie hoards and walk away from the demonic streets of L.A. alive.
From everything we’ve seen, Dead Island 2 doesn’t look to be rocking the boat too much. While that might be disappointing after nearly a decade since the original, longtime fans should be pleased that new developer Dambuster Studios hasn’t changed the fundamental core of Dead Island. This is still a cheesy, sleazy brawler where players can explore a deserted open map at their leisure.
Dead Island 2 will be hitting PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S on April 21, 2023. The long wait looks to be worth it for fans of the series.
