The recent scuttlebutt regarding the rumored Saints Row reboot has turned out to be true. Developer Volition and publisher Deep Silver revealed the franchise reboot with a new cinematic trailer at Gamescom 2021. It’s set to release on February 25, 2022, for PlayStation 4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC through the Epic Games Store.
Simply titled Saints Row, the newest installment in the franchise that began in 2006 is a full-on reboot, and it moves the action westward to the Santa Ileso, where a cohort of new characters looks to build their own crime empire. While still bombastic, action-packed, and over the top, it pulls back on some of the zanier aspects of later Saints Row entries, at least in this first trailer, anyway.
Oh, and there will reportedly be drop-in/drop-out co op.
Digital and physical pre orders are live now for certain versions on certain platforms (it looks like some are still rolling out) and can be purchased through the game’s official website, Epic Games, and other platform storefronts.
There are three versions to choose from: the $59.99 Regular Edition; the $89.99 Gold Edition; and the $99.99 Platinum Edition. The Gold Edition grants access to the base game and the expansion pass and three add-ons, while the Platinum Edition bundles those things with Saints Row The Third – Remastered.
The Idols Anarchy pack includes the DJ Helmet, the Twinkle Bat, and the Sandstorm Scrambler; the Los Panteros American Muscle Bundle includes the Fury Motorcycle and El Lanzador heavy weapon skin; and the Criminal Customs pack includes the Saints Custom Convertible and the Saints Custom Stab Jacket.
Stay tuned for more on the Saints Row reboot as we learn it in the coming weeks and months.
