How to Fix the Error on PC

This error message usually appears to players who have been trying to play Back 4 Blood through Game Pass. If that’s your case, then you can fix the Failed to Sign in issue by following these steps:

  1. Exit Back 4 Blood
  2. Press “Start” button
  3. Go to “Microsoft Store” app
  4. Click on “Back 4 Blood” game in the list
  5. Wait for the auto-update to finish

The developer has released a patched version of the game for all Game Pass users that fixes the Failed to Sign in error. After the update your game should be version 1.2.14.0.

In case your game doesn’t auto-update, you can force the update manually by doing the following:

  1. Press “Start” button
  2. Go to “Microsoft Store” app
  3. Click on the three dots (…) on top of the “Back 4 Blood” icon
  4. Select “Get Updates” option
  5. Wait for the update to finish

If you’re not the Game Pass user, but you have the similar issue on Steam, then you can do the following:

  4. Plug it back in and press the power button

But this isn’t it yet, as now you need to make sure that your profile is visible online:

  1. Press the Xbox Guide button on your gamepad
  2. Select your profile
  3. Check the “Appear Online/Offline” feature on the bottom
  4. If it’s set to Offline, switch it to Online instead

Finally, you need to make sure that your security settings allow your visibility online:

  1. Press the Xbox Guide button on your gamepad
  2. Go to “Settings” menu
  3. Select “Online Safety and Family” option
  4. Go to “Privacy and Online Safety” menu
  5. Select “Xbox Privacy” tab
  6. Select “View Details and Customize” option
  7. Check the “Online Status and History” log
  8. Your “Others can see if you are online” setting should be “Everybody
  9. If not, then switch it to “Everybody
