Have you been roaming the streets of Los Santos and realized that you are a little low on cash? Want to make some quick cash and have some fun while doing it? Well, I might just be able to help you with that.
First off, I am 95% sure that each of these solutions is going to attact the attention of the Los Santos Police Department, so be prepared to run from them and hide once you are out-of-sight. Secondly, most of these solutions are fun, but one is slightly tedious. Now, with the disclaimers out of the way…on to the fun stuff!
Solution #1: Rob a convenience store!
This is one of the easiest ways to make money in Grand Theft Auto Online and can be good fun when playing with friends. As soon as you step off the plane into Los Santos, Lamar gives you a pistol to defend yourself as well as to cause a little trouble while running around the city. You already have the pistol…so why not get to it?
On your map, you will see several stores that are available to rob and any store you have previously robbed will have a checkmark over it. Stores that have checkmarks are more likely to recognize your character should you choose to rob that store again, so look for a store that you have not been to before. Alternatively, going to Vespucci Movie Masks will allow you to purchase a mask to conceal your identity, and that makes it harder for store clerks to recognize you.
I don’t know if the selfie with the Cashier is necessary but…
Now, hopefully you have found a store of your choosing and now it is time to act! Before I walk into any convenience store, I like to check that I am wearing my mask (it seems to work better when you are wearing it) and I also check my weapons. I tend to use a Sawed-Off Shotgun when holding up a store just because it looks more intimidating but weapon choice is entirely up to you.
Now, Grand Theft Auto Online will automatically unequip your gun if you attempt to walk into the store with a gun so be aware of that. Approach the register and aim your weapon at the cashier. Naturally, the poor guy will begin to empty the register but if you are in a hurry yell at him through your mic. I know it is bad enough you are robbing the guy but…time is money, right?
“I’m really sorry about this but it’s for educational purposes, ya know?”
Once he has emptied the register, he will drop the bag of money over the counter where you can pick it up. Keep your weapon on the cashier at all times! He will not hesitate to pull out a gun of his own and shoot you in the back as you leave the store.
At this point, it is time to make a quick getaway so hop into your car and drive off. Find a nice, quiet spot and wait for the LSPD to suspend their search for you. Once the search as been called off, you are in the clear. Congratulations, you just made yourself a nice $1000 or more.
Solution #2: Sell cars to Los Santos Customs!
A practice that is slightly more legitimate in nature is selling cars to Los Santos Customs. This can be done approximately once every in-game day or every 48 minutes of real time. It is also important to note that Los Santos Customs will not purchase cars that have a Tracker in it, so most of the higher-end vehicles cannot be sold to Los Santos Customs.
Remember how I said more legitimate? Well, I was half-right. Instead of robbing some poor cashier, you will instead have to steal someone’s car and that is not as bad, right?
Legality aside, you will need to search for a car to sell to the fine folks at LSC and it is best to search carefully for the best car. From what I have learned, SUVs tend to sell for decent prices (around $5000 for a Fathom FQ2) and they also tend to be easier to find. However, some of the more exotic cars such as the Lampadati Felon will sell for as much as $9000.
The nice thing about selling the Fathom FQ2 is that I don’t have to look at it anymore.
So, find a car that you would like to commandeer and drive it to the closest LSC. You will have to get the car repaired if you run into anything so make sure to drive carefully! And odds are good you may need to repair the vehicle anyway if your character smashes the window breaking into the car.
After you get the car repaired, scroll through the menu until you find the “Sell” option and click it. After a confirmation screen, the car will sell and you will be several thousand dollars richer. And you did not even have to ruin some poor cashier’s day! It’s a win-win for everybody…except for the person whose car you stole.
Alternatively, you can also steal cars for Simeon as he will text you a list of cars that he wants. He tends to pay double what LSC will pay you but you need to respray the car first. Also, you usually need to drive the car to a farther destination so it is a bit of a tradeoff.
Solution #3: Get a Job, you bum!
This option usually would not sound like much fun because who wants to work for a living? The good news is Grand Theft Auto Online tries to entertain you while you are hard at work.
Jobs will continuously pop up on your phone from your list of Contacts, and they range prepossessing a car to taking out an attorney. Typically, the earlier missions pay less money but the amount will go up as you keep playing.
Not the best way to earn the big money but it’ll have to do…
Working for Gerald and Simeon will usually earn you anywhere from $1000 to $2000 per mission; while one of Martin’s missions will net you $9000 in cash!
These jobs are important as well as they increase your Reputation (RP) which then will increase your rank. So, doing jobs will accomplish multiple things at once.
Anyways, I hope these quick little solutions will help you some extra money in Grand Theft Auto Online. If you have any suggestions for what you would like to see me offer tips for, then please let me know in the comments below!
