When I grew up, I grew up with a lot of video games surrounding me. My brothers were gamers and they introduced me into video games earlier than most kids. As I grew up, I began looking into developers and their games. I started to find my favorite developer while I was doing this. And then we move onto the topic: My favorite Game Company is Square Enix. All the way!
Square Enix Holdings Co. is a Japanese video game developer, publisher, and distribution company that is best known for its role-playing video game franchises, which include the Final Fantasy series, the Dragon Quest series, and the Kingdom Hearts action RPG series. Its headquarters are located in the Shinjuku Bunka Quint Building in Yoyogi, Shibuya, Tokyo.
The original Square Enix was formed as the result of a merger between Square and Enix. The merger occurred on April 1, 2003 with Enix as the surviving company. Each share of Square’s common stock was exchanged for 0.85 shares of Enix’s common stock. At the time, 80% of Square Enix staff was made up of former Square Co. employees. As part of the merger, former Square president Yoichi Wada was appointed president of the new corporation, while former Enix president Keiji Honda became its vice president. The founder of Enix, Yasuhiro Fukushima, currently serves as the honorary chairman and largest shareholder of the corporation.
Square Enix is my favorite gaming company because it created the games that have inspired me, even today. The game that inspired me the most is the “Kingdom Hearts” series. It made me feel many emotions while playing it and when I beat it I didn’t stop playing it. I continued hacking and slashing enemies to their doom.
All of Square Enix’s video games are unique, in my opinion. That’s why I always eagerly wait for them to come out. As an Indie-Game Dev, myself, I swore to never work in a game company, but while making that swear I made Square Enix my one exception. It was my childhood dream to work there.
In conclusion, Square Enix is my favorite game company. Its games are amazing, and I may work there one day.
