Ready to get back into the fight with the world’s best and most iconic (not to mention frequently scantily clad) combatants? Part five in what is probably the most well-known fighting game series finally arrives, kicking off with 16 starting characters.

We’ll be going through all of them, teaching you how to master each Street Fighter V character moves list from beginning to end — starting here with Birdie, Cammy, and Chun Li.

While fighting in a match, the red v-meter at the top of the screen controls whether you can execute v-trigger and v-reversal skills. The blue critical gauge at the bottom controls when you can use special moves and the critical art finishing move.

Note that the commands listed below assume you are facing towards the right. If you are facing left, reverse the movement in the combo.

Birdie

This headbutting, chain-wielding glutton is a balanced grappler and fun character to learn how to play Street Fighter V. He is solidly focused on heavy attacks.

  • Bull Drop: Move Right + Heavy Kick
  • Bull Charge: Move Right + Heavy Punch
  • Bull Slider: Move Down Right + Heavy Punch
  • Bad Hammer: Move Down + Heavy Punch, Heavy Punch

  • Bad Chain: While near an opponent, either stand still or Move Right + Light Punch, Light Kick
  • Bad Skull: While near an opponent, Move Left + Light Punch, Light Kick

  • Break Time: Medium Punch, Medium Kick (he actually eats a donut to fill the v-trigger meter!)
  • Drink Time: Crouch Down + Medium Punch, Medium Kick
  • Banana Time: Move Left + Medium Punch, Medium Kick
Birdie V-Trigger
  • Enjoy Time: Heavy Punch, Heavy Kick
Birdie V-Reversal
  • Pepper Pot: While guarding Move Right + Any Punch, Any Punch, Any Punch
Birdie Special Character Moves
  • Bull Horn: Quarter Circle Right + Any Punch
  • Bull Head: Hold down momentarily and then release Any Punch or Any Kick
  • Hanging Chain: Quarter Circle Right + Any Kick. (For a whirl, hold the kick button, then use Any Punch to cancel.)
  • Killing Head: While close to an opponent move Half Circle Left + Any Punch
  • Bull Revenger: Half Circle Left + Any Kick
Critical Art Finisher
  • Skip To My Chain: Quarter Circle Right, Quarter Circle Right + Any Punch

Cammy

This iconic fighter is a fast, well-rounded character with a handful of combos that aren’t too difficult to learn along with some that are more tricky to pull off, requiring quick z-motions patterns on the control stick.

  • Lift Upper: Move Left + Medium Punch

  • Gyro Clipper: While near an opponent, either stand still or Move Right + Light Punch, Light Kick

  • Axel Spin Knuckle: Medium Punch, Medium Kick
Cammy V-Trigger
  • Delta Drive: Heavy Punch, Heavy Kick
Cammy V-Reversal

Strike Back: While guarding, Move Right + Any Kick, Any Kick, Any Kick

  • Hooligan Combination: Half Circle Right + Any Punch. (For different effects either end the combo there, or do Light Punch, Light Kick while on the ground or Light Punch, Light Kick while in the air.)

  • Cross Stinger Assault: Quarter Circle Right, Quarter Circle Right + Any Kick

Chun-Li

The blue jade with the lighting fast feet has both her famous close-up kick attack, as well as some ranged options in her arsenal.

  • Tsuitotsuken: Either Move Left or Move Right + Medium Punch
  • Hakkei: Move Left + Heavy Punch
  • Senenshu: Move Diagonal Down Right + Medium Kick
  • Tenkukyaku: Move Left + Heavy Kick
  • Yokusenkyaku: Move Right + Heavy Kick
  • Kakurakukyaku: Move Diagonal Down Right + Heavy Kick
  • Yosokyaku: While jumping, Crouch Down + Medium Kick
  • Wall Jump: They seem to have gotten lazy with their naming schemes on this one. While jumping near a wall, Move Diagonal Up Right.
Chun Li Throws
  • Ryuseiraku: While in the air use Light Punch, Light Kick
  • Tenshin Shushu: While near an opponent, Move Left + Light Punch, Light Kick
  • Koshuto: While near an opponent, stand still or Move Right + Light Punch, Light Kick
Chun Li V-Skills
  • Rankyaku: Medium Punch, Medium Kick
Chun Li V-Trigger
  • Renkiko: Heavy Punch, Heavy Kick
Chun Li V-Reversal
  • Sohakkei: While guarding, Move Right + Any Punch, Any Punch, Any Punch
