For the better part of the past month, Respawn Entertainment CEO Vince Zampella has teased us with trickles of new information for the highly anticipated game Titanfall. He confirmed the game will have 6 versus 6 multiplayer matches, three different types of Titans, and will feature two opposing groups battling it out for control of the galaxy. The biggest news however was the confirmation of a Titanfall beta before the game releases next month.
The wait is finally over.
Today, the team launches sign-ups for said beta. Interestingly, even though they have already had a limited alpha test to a select few Xbox One owners, the beta will be a closed beta. According to Zampella, existing pre-orders do not help in getting an invite. He says,

Our Take:
It is surprising that this is a closed beta so close to the release date. While there is no doubt that the dev team is full of talented individuals who work very hard, the fact that a closed beta test is happening exactly 30 days from release is a little worrisome. Does this mean that there will be a huge day-one update? Is the game so full of polish that the team knows it doesn’t have a lot of bugs to fix? I guess we will see.
Titanfall officially launches for the Xbox One and PC on March 11th, and the Xbox 360 on March 25th
