This article is over 11 years old and may contain outdated information

The check-in desk included a Zombie working checking people in for those there to hear about Plants Vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare who “planted” himself when trying to sit – lack of eyehole fail!

The Sims 4 was the first to be previewed and the sea of green in the audience seemed pretty happy about.

Rachel Franklin introduced some information as well as a nifty video of the game.

The Sims 4 will feature a host of new content to make the game more interesting and in depth. Through the new emotion based gameplay you can influence not only the interactions of your Sims immediately but further down the line, and their mood will be affected by their decor – want to get passionate – a saucy picture on the wall will do that for you. This combined with the Smart Sim Technologies brings the game to life even more than before.
Also previewed were the new build mode tools, that make the dragging and dropping of rooms which are fully furnished now possible as well as the ability to mold your Sims figures and features like it was clay.

Command and Conquer was also previewed…

…and after a small online match displaying the new gameplay we were treated to a trailer of what to expect in the new title, most importantly the introduction of Episodic Story driven missions for single player and co-op. Sign up for the beta online, the game is due to be released in 2014.

A game I am looking forward to is Dragon Age: Inquisition, the game powered by Frostbite 3 is going to give you a massive range of choice and consequence, as well as the ability to have agents work for you. It is set to be released in Fall 2014.

Despite only being a week old, Plants vs. Zombies 2 has become EA’s biggest mobile game launch and it has seen over 16 million downloads.

Tony Learner the Franchise Director from PoPCap teased information regarding the first content update – Far Future. Garden Warfare, which is set to be released next year has explosive multiplayer action where you can play as a Zombie (different classes include Soldier, Engineer and Scientist). As well as Boss Mode exclusive to the Xbox One featuring Dr ZomBoss and Crazy Dave.

Also announced and previewed was Peggle 2 which will be exclusive to the Xbox One.

We then heard from the head of EA Sports, Andrew Wilson, and the head of UFC Europe Garry Cook regarding the release of the UFC game, due in Spring 2014 for the next gen consoles. The Ignite engine allows for true player motion and human intelligence – but early pre alpha gameplay showed an intense Field of Fight with more realistic gameplay as well as human reactions on the MMA fighters’ faces.

Next up in Need for Speed: Rivals, and Exec Producer Marcus Nilsson explained the game as one of no rules, where you make your own choice on whether to play it safe or push the boundaries. The new open world play destroys the boundaries between single player, co-op and online gaming, and the ability to progress in your career as well as the millions of personalization options make it a truly exciting game.

The Ferrari 458 Spider is back after 8 years and it looks amazing, as do all the graphics. Being released on old gen consoles November 2013 and Next Gen shortly after.

Titanfall’s preview shows a fast paced and intense gameplay that forces the player to jump from weapon to weapon in order to buy more time.

Some interesting news on FIFA 14: it’s going to mobile – free to play as well – but there are going to be new touch controls and gameplay experiences. Patch on to this the growth of FIFA World which will feature hundreds of new clubs, leagues and 16,000 new players as well as the ability to co-op online and play against your friends in seasons. Players will also be subjected to real world updates – a player gets injured or benched in real life? Expect it in game too. And for those of you who were worrying about your team ceasing when you get your Xbox One or PS4 – no need to worry – your team and experience can move with you.

We also heard a little about FIFA LEGENDS – more than 40 superstars you can play with and transplant in to your team of modern players.

Finally we got a peek of BATTLEFIELD 4 which is being Beta’d in October. Through new technology, Levolution, no two games will ever be the same. Premium will also offer a lot of new content before anyone else can get their hands on it; there will be weekly updates, new map, vehicles etc. You can also look forward to 5 expansions with the Premium pack, China Rising, Second Assault, Naval Strike, Dragon’s Teeth and Final Stand to play through.
