Open for Review: KarBOOM! 8-Way Local Multiplayer Car-combat/Soccer/Rugby Indie Game?

The dev assures me it all makes sense once you see the game. I'm curious to find out whether he's right or crazy. Either way, it should be interesting!

We got a pretty unusual message from a lone indie dev today. Feeling social? Gather a few friends and fire up what promises to be a unique gaming experience. Also, you’ll pretty much make this guy’s day.

Hey GameSkinny! Your site’s looking slick! I’d like to give you guys a review copy of my upcoming game…

This is KarBOOM – local multiplayer for up to 8 players on Windows, Mac & Linux. Kar soccer, kar rugby, hold the flag, survival, gamble, showdown… it all makes sense once you get your hands on it.

I’ve finally finished making it in time for its release on KarBOOM.net and Desura (as well as FireFlowerGames and ShinyLoot) next Tuesday, October 29th for $10 USD. And God willing, Steam, eventually (because it’s on Greenlight, of course!).

Please keep the review copy to yourselves. I say “yourselves” plural, because this is all about the local multiplayer. Pull out gamepads, or cram hands together on a keyboard (we often play just one-on-one and it’s still a huge blast in my dorm). But I also want to make sure you know this isn’t freeware, and this copy is for your enjoyment, but I’d quite like others to pay for it so I can put food on my table.

And then eat it.

The food, not the table

KarBOOM will be released on Tuesday the 29th of October – just next week – for $10 USD. I’d really appreciate KarBOOM’s attention being focused on and after its release date, to make the most of potential buyers reading about it.

Mac and Linux versions are available if you prefer – just let me know!

Cheers,
Jibb Smart, the sole developer of KarBOOM after 3 weirdly drawn-out years of development
