Forspoken PC players have been getting errors while playing the game with a controller. These include sudden disconnections, stuttering, sudden moves, and others.
Our guide will provide you with some potential fixes for the controller not working in Forspoken on PC.
Reconnect Controller and Mouse/Keyboard
Some players have reported that a simply reconnecting the controller solves the issue, but others also noticed that their mouse and keyboard may be affecting it as well. Here are a few things you should try:
- Connect controller and unplug mouse/keyboard.
- Connect controller with mouse and/or keyboard plugged in.
- Connect controller and unplug all other USB devices.
Make sure that each time you do these steps you also restart both Steam and Forspoken for them to take effect.
Use PS5 DualSense Controller
Those using a PlayStation 5 controller are seeing less problems with the game’s controller compatibility than others. It seems the game is just meant to be played with a DualSense. If you have one but are using a different controller, swap to the PS5 controller to see if it works.
Disable Steam Input
Steam players who using Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2 have an issue with Steam Input configuration. If you use a similar controller, then here’s how you can fix this issue:
- Launch Steam app.
- Select “Library” tab.
- Right-click on the Forspoken game.
- Go to “Controller” settings.
- Select “Disable Steam Input” in the “Use Deafult Settings” section.
If you already had it disabled, then you may need to switch to “Enable Steam Input”, and try to play the game in that mode.
Check Controller Configuration Support
Steam also has a number of configuration set-ups for various types of controllers. You can try switching them on or off, and see how your controller performs afterwards. Follow these steps:
- Launch Steam app.
- Go to “Settings” top menu.
- Select “Controller” option.
- Go to “General Controller Settings” tab.
- Check/uncheck all controller configurations in the list.
- Confirm by pressing “OK“.
Try enabling and disabling various configurations, as one of them may improve the performance of your particular controller.
Try Using Wired Controller
The last thing players can try is use the wired controller if you’re trying to use a wireless one. You may try different models as well as configurations of the wired controllers, and see if this improves your gameplay experience.
