Hogwarts Legacy: How to Use Potions Simultaneously

Potions can provide strong buffs in Hogwarts Legacy, and here's how you can stack their effects y using them simultaneously.

In Hogwarts Legacy, you’ll reach a point that requires you to use potions simultaneously in order to progress in the story. This knowledge can be useful in combat because it allows you to fight under the effects of multiple potions at once. You could use one to increase damage and one to increase defense. For the sake of completing the quest, you’ll need to be under the effects of a Maxima and Edurus potion at the same time.

Professor Sharp wants you to use a Maxima and Edurus potion simultaneously, so your first step is to get one of each potion either by brewing them yourself or by purchasing them in Hogsmeade.

If you’re brewing the potions, you’ll first need the recipes from J. Pippin’s Potions. For the Edurus Potion, you’ll need Ashwinder Eggs and Mongrel Fur. For the Maxima Potion, you’ll need Leech Juice and a Spider Fang.

How to Use Maxima and Edurus Potions at the Same Time

The quest objective might seem a little misleading given the wording, but you don’t need to drink the potions at the exact same time. The quest will be completed from having the effects of each potion active together.

To do this:

  • Open your tool wheel (L1/LB/Tab by default) and choose the potion you want to drink first.
  • Then, immediately open your tool wheel again, choose the section potion, and drink it.

The objective will be complete, and you’ll be able to use this tactic in the future for extra buffs when you’re fighting difficult enemies.
