Fans of the Metal Slug series will be pleased to know that the Metal Slug Anthology, a collection that contains Metal Slug 1-6, as well as Metal Slug X, will be coming to PS4 via the PS2-to-PS4 downloads.

Announced on PlayStation Blog’s Podcast, The PlayStation Blogcast, the collection will be available on July 5th — just after Independence Day. This version of Metal Slug Anthology will feature up-rendered 1080p visuals, Remote Play compatibility, and Trophy support; as with most other PS2 titles released on PS4.

Metal Slug Anthology was Published by Publisher SNK Playmore and originally released the anthology for PlayStation 2, Nintendo Wii, and PlayStation Portable (playable on your PlayStation Vita for about $20) in 2007. There has yet to be a new title in the long running cult series.
