You might be wondering what is Nintendo’s next handheld gaming idea after the 3DS? Nintendo will be releasing the 2DS on October 12th. The 2DS will be released in red and blue models and is intended for the younger gamer. The 3DS is mainly for children seven years old and up because of the 3D function. Nintendo wanted to give the gamers younger than seven a chance to play the awesome 3DS games. They have essentially recreated the 3DS with out the 3D function. Now younger gamers can play regular DS games, 3DS games and still have the other functions a 3DS has like Nintendo e-Shop and WiFi.
The 2DS is completely flat but has a slider that replicates the closing of the clamshell on a 3DS. The WiFi can be turned off or on, but will have to be done through the controls in the software and not a switch on the side. The 2DS comes with a 4GB SD card and uses the same power source as the DSi and 3DS. The 2DS has a camera on both sides so gamers can take pictures. The pictures can been seen on the 2DS just not in 3D, if they want to see it in 3D all they have to do is transfer it to a 3DS.
It was really nice of Nintendo to think of the younger gamers. Let me know what you think by leaving a comment!
