2K announced a new development studio under their wing. It’s called Hangar 13, and is being led by Haden Blackman, former producer and writer for LucasArts games. The headquarters is located in San Francisco Bay and they are currently working on an undisclosed AAA title.
Blackman’s career started at LucasArts Entertainment, where he wrote for several games. He later worked on the Star Wars games such as Knights of the Old Republic and The Force Unleashed as franchise director and senior executive producer. In 2012, his independent game development company, Fearless Studios, was bought out by Kabam.
In addition to his work in the game industry, Blackman has also worked on comics. His time at LucasArts gave him the experience with writing Star Wars for Dark Horse. He also won a GLAAD Media Award for his work on DC Comics’ Batwoman and Marvel’s Elektra.
