Just days away from E3 and news is already being shared about new games planned to be released.
Sony Online Entertainment has confirmed with that three games will be making their way to the PS4 this year. DC Universe Online fans need not worry; your hours of dedicated play time will not be lost as this super-hero MMO will be one of the games coming to the PS4.
When it was announced that the PS4 would not be backwards-compatible and you would not be able to download current Playstation network games, DC Universe Online players were frustrated. Now a sigh of relief sweeps the internet as players have their answer.
Also coming is Planetside 2. The game is a First Person Shooter MMO currently available on PC. However there is no official release date on when these 2 titles will be out other than that it will be within this year and they will be free-to-play on the new system.
The third and possibly the most popular game confirmed is Warframe. This space ninja co-operative game will launch alongside the PS4 and will follow the same free-to-play microtransaction formula it currently does on the PC.
Digital Extremes, the development studio behind the Unreal series, Dark Sector and The Darkness II, will be in charge of the PS4 and PC versions of Warframe. IGN spoke with Steve Sinclair, the game’s creative director, to get an idea of what the game is about. Sinclair states:
“it’s like Mass Effect meets Ninja Gaiden, what with its emphasis on space and… well… ninjas. It’s a big, messy space ninja game.”
Sinclair also went on to hint that the DualShock 4’s special functionality, including the touch pad, will play a big role in the game.
Warframe is an intense third-person action game with a deep collection system, and will even come with new monthly content and an app for both iOS and Android. You can also go to the website now and play the Beta version.
