39 Minute Skyrim Speedrun: Main Story Beat In Record Breaking Time

Someone takes a game with an incredible story and depth and ignores it all.

Some games struggle to create an engaging story to hold a player’s attention for an extended period of time. Skyrim is not one of those games. The open-world RPG allows for plenty of tanget quests, acheivements and personal goals to occupy your time. Many players confess to losing hundreds of hours on Bethesda’s masterpiece. DrTChops is not one of those people.

He has taken a game that players have enjoyed for months on end and reduced it to a meager 39 minutes and 32 seconds. This record beats the previous Skyrim speedrun record set by MrWalrus of 39 minutes and 41 seconds. The clock for the game doesn’t include the load times and it stops when the killing blow is dealt to Alduin in Sovngarde. For this record, nothing beyond completing the main quest is required.

If the entire Skyrim storyline can be beat in less than forty minutes, it makes you wonder how long Fallout 3 or Fable 3 would last under this treatment.
