While the Japanese and Korean TERA servers are migrating to free to play models, the North American publisher En Masse is hiring an industry veteran who is well-experienced in running free to play MMOs.
Soo Min Park, former 12-year Nexon employee, has joined En Masse’s ranks as Chief Operating Officer. His history with Nexon is an interesting tidbit considering TERA‘s ongoing switch from pay to free to play in other markets.
Along with the addition of Park comes some restructuring within the company. Brian Knox, former Senior Producer, will be moving onto an Executive Producer role; while Chris Lee, former VP of Publishing will move into the role of CEO.
En Masse was hit with layoffs late last year, but the company is still positive about the future of the game. With tons of new content on the horizon, things aren’t looking too bad for TERA right now. The addition of Soo Min Park to En Masse might be ominous to players hoping the game will stay P2P, but there’s no cause for concern just yet.
