After more than a year of uncertainty, Nintendo has revealed that Advance Wars 1+2 Re-Boot Camp will finally be seeing the light of day. Initially planned for a release in late 2021 with a small delay putting it in early 2022, the Russian invasion of Ukraine put those plans on hold. An understandable decision by Nintendo, for certain.
Now, Andy, Max, Sami, and the gang will be ready to unleash war on Switch consoles. Set for an April 21, 2023 date, the small trailer attached to this announcement didn’t really contain anything new. Everything there is to know about Advance Wars, we already knew during Nintendo’s initial marketing period.
Re-Boot Camp is a remake of the first two Game Boy Advance installments in the Advance Wars series. Similar in execution to Fire Emblem, Advance Wars is a strategy game that has you playing war with cuteified renditions of tanks and soldiers. Events such as strong weather or big bosses can come in to ruin your plans.
It’s nice to see that Advance Wars will finally be seeing the light of day on Switch.
