Sword Art Online, the popular anime that took the otaku world by storm, is catching the attention of gamers. Many of us have been wishing that Aincrad (the virtual world of Sword Art Online) existed. And now we may just get our wish if indie development team Cardinal Gaming keeps their promise to bring you a “totally new MMORPG” experience for your PC. The anime-inspired indie game, named Age of Aincrad, has accumulated over 5,000 followers on Game Jolt, and it boasts a 33-person manned staff that’s dedicated to bringing this game to life.
Age of Aincrad has been in development for two years, and just entered Closed Alpha stage on October 1st, so it’s not likely we will be getting it any time soon. Though with how much the team is wanting to pack into it, the long wait is understandable.
If you are impatient and want to take a quick sneak peek, but don’t have an Alpha Key, they have made a small, rough demo available for you to try out on your computer by visiting their site. The team is planning to double their Alpha testers in the future. So make sure you’re watching for announcements about how to get a key for the game.
