Contrary to how it initially seemed (my bad), the Aion 4.0 public test server in Korea finally went up today. NCSoft Korea has released an official trailer for the update, showcasing two of the new classes as well as a few of the new areas and features coming to the game.
The trailer shows off so much that it’s hard to really list it all here. The Gunner and Bard make an appearance, and we get to see just how large and varied Katalam really is — and it is huge. We also get a good look at some of the upcoming instances and what we previously knew as “base scrambles” (called Town Battles in the trailer) in action.
This is the first patch of three. The second one is scheduled for January 16, 2013; and the third one is scheduled for March 13, 2013.
Something to note is that there is no mention of the third new class, the loosely-translated “Armored Castle“ mecha. The Gunner has been implemented with this first patch, and the Bard is supposed to be implemented in the next one. The Armored Castle will be coming to Aion KR in the third (and final?) 4.0 patch.
New Skills
The trailer above isn’t the only goodie to be found on the official Korean 4.0 site: A video showing off the new skills implemented this patch is also featured, along with a list of skills by class. This is far more extensive than the small list of new skills we had gotten before.
The lists of new skills are in Korean, but they are well worth a look.
Ranger Skills
Assassin Skills
Spiritmaster Skills
Sorcerer Skills
Templar Skills
Gladiator Skills
Chanter Skills
Cleric Skills
It still looks like this update is going to bring more to the table than we could have even expected when it was announced. It’s good to see the game finally getting some extensive content additions.
Check out our previous showcases on what’s new to Aion 4.0 to get yourself hyped. The amount of new stuff going into the game this time around is rather impressive. We still have no official date for launch in NA, but I’m sure we’ll find out soon enough.
