Here is the trailer for the arcade release of Tekken 7: Fated Retribution showing Akuma in all his Ansatsuken glory as he battles Heihachi:

Senior Game Designer Michael Murray revealed to PlayStation LifeStyle,in an interview during Jump Festa, that Akuma will most likely be the only Street Fighter character to cross over to Tekken 7.

Murray continued to say that Game Producer Katsuhiro Harada and himself both don’t really like the guest characters because it “throws off the Tekken world and setting.” However, Murray also explained that Akuma was a great fit and that there is a chance for more guests in the future.

Murra and Waki also expressed that it is a good time for fighting games with Mortal Kombat X and Street Fighter V bringing attention to the fighting genre giving them a bigger audience.

“For us, it’s kinda tough because we’re still quite arcade-centric, though it’s good because we can continue to test ideas, polish the game and add content before we port it.”

The update Fated Retribution has yet to be given a release date but in addition to Akuma, the update will come with some graphical changes, new costumes and more.

Tekken 7 does not have a release date for the US but is in development for the PlayStation 4 in Japan.
