A prominent feature in Sony’s PlayStation meeting was the PS4 Pro, and it’s ability to run games with full “high dynamic range” displays, or HDR. Luckily, players won’t have to wait until November to see what all the fuss is about.
Sony is now releasing a new PS4 firmware update that gives all PS4s HDR capabilities. To show off this new dynamic enhancement, Sony gave the audience a look at how Days Gone, Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, and Infamous: First Light can look with this new feature.
Sony hasn’t stated if games will have to have individual software updates in order to make use of this HDR firmware update. On top of this, you do need a TV or monitor capable of presenting HDR in order to really capitalize on this feature.
