Double Fine has crafted some of the more critically lauded games to come out in the last few years, such as Psychonauts, and are perhaps more famous for the success of their Kickstarter late last year to create the game now known as Broken Age.
They currently have a Humble Bundle, which was covered here. However, there has been an addition to this bundle to sweeten the pot–the inclusion of some Amnesia Fortnight prototypes. Amnesia Fortnight is an event Double Fine does every year where they create games for two weeks that have nothing to do with their team projects. This has led to some of the games the company makes for production, and is considered a risk free time to try out new game strategies.
So while you can buy great games like Stacking, Costume Quest, and Psychonauts, and even become an extreme slacker backer for the Kickstarter and Broken Age, if you go over the average ($8.05 at time of press) you can get a copy of several Windows Prototypes for Amnesia Fortnight as well as Two Player Productions documentary videos of the event.
The prototypes range from something called Autonomous, a first person sandbox robotic construction game to White Birch a 3-D puzzle platformer. It looks like there’s a lot of interesting ideas in play in all of these games, and after seeing what 2 Player Productions has done with the Double Fine Kickstater campaign, I’m interested to see what their Amnesia Fortnight coverage looks like.
Overall, it looks like an interesting Bundle, and you can check it out here for another week.
