Harry Potter nerds can rejoice and relish the fact that author J.K. Rowling is continuing with our beloved wizard universe. Inspired by the textbook used at Hogwarts, the film will be titled the same Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. Additionally, Rowling pitched the idea to Warner Bros who leapt at the chance to make a movie–and a video game.
The film, and game, will follow the antics and life of Newt Scamander, the author the textbook, 70 years prior to Harry Potter’s adventures. Were you one of the avid fans that gobbled up anything related to Harry Potter, from the “textbooks” to the imitation chocolate frogs? Then you will already know that we will be seeing all sorts of beasties we have not seen yet. When it comes to the game, there are myriad opportunities for interesting bosses and maybe even helpful creatures.
Because Rowling is composing the screenplay for the film, hopefully her detail and wit translates over to the games. Previous games had their perks, but something was missing as the series progressed, which is not surprising when it comes to film-to-game or game-to-film projects.
What do you think about this new expansion into the Harry Potter universe?
