Survival phenomena Ark has always courted controversy with its release schedule, from staying in Early Access for years to releasing paid DLC before its full launch. The Genesis season pass is the latest expansion to elicit groans from the community. Though the DLC has been available to buy since August, it still has yet to see release.
After another delay from the previous launch window of January, we’ve now got a firm launch date for the first half of Ark: Genesis. Part one of the Ark: Genesis season pass is confirmed for a February 25 release date.
Here’s what the development crew had to say about the date push back:
We know things have been a bit quiet on Genesis news for the past few weeks, even though there is much more to show you, we’ve been deeply immersed in the pre-release development process.
This additional delay will no doubt come as a disappointment to everyone who is eagerly awaiting Genesis. We’re extremely sorry to push it back an extra month, but as we have been heads-down with the rest of the team polishing, balancing and putting the final pieces together, we really felt that the extra wait will be worth it both for the quality of the base game and the ambitious new expansion.
Here’s the current release schedule for this massive update to the dinosaur-riding survival title:
- Exclusive HLN-A cosmetic pet (available now)
- ARK: Genesis Part 1 (available 25th of February 2020)
- ARK: Genesis Part 2 (available winter 2020)
