New CGI teaser for Batman: Arkham Origins
Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment put up this sweet new teaser trailer today for Batman: Arkham Origins. The clip is pretty short and has a lot of jittery cuts and edits. The editing makes it a little abrasive and annoying to watch, but the beautiful CGI makes up for that in spades.
The teaser pits Batman against Deathstroke (AKA Slade) down among the storage containers of a shipping yard. The fight is pretty, but a teaser is a teaser. We don’t actually get to see much at all.
Developed by WB Games Montreal, Batman: Arkham Origins will feature an expanded Gotham City. The game introduces an original prequel storyline set a few years before the events of Arkham Asylum and Arkham City. Origins takes place before the rise of Gotham City’s more well-known villains and the game features a young and unrefined Batman finding his way as a new crime-fighter.
Interestingly enough, the game will feature a multi-player element. I’m not sure how that will be implemented, but it sounds like a pretty exciting feature for a Batman game!
Batman: Arkham Origins releases for the Wii U, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC on October 25, 2013. A related handheld title, Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate, will be released the same day on PlayStation Vita and Nintendo 3DS.
