Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has finally dropped the multiplayer trailer people have been waiting for.
This is probably the third or fourth article I’ve written about Batman: Arkham Origins, can you tell I’m excited for this game?
Batman: Arkham Origins is a prequel story to Arkham Asylum and Arkham City. Both highly praised games and both Game of the Year nominees. Origins will be the first game in the series however to include multiplayer. Splash Damage, the company behind Brink, and Enemy Territory: Quake Wars will be taking on the challenge.
The online mode will be called Invisible Predator Online. In a very unique spin to your average multiplayer games, Origins comes with an interesting handicap with its 3 versus 3 versus 2 combat.
You can play as Batman or Robin against two player-controlled teams of gun wielding henchmen, each consisting of three players, led by the competing villains Joker and Bane. No word on if their will be other villains like scarecrow or Two-Face factions to play as.

Think playing as a goon puts you at a handicap against the batman? wrong. The thugs will be equipped with special gadgets like Enhanced Vision, which works like Batman’s Detective Vision to see other players through walls but with limited battery power. While the Joker comes with weapons like “Surprise, You’re Dead!” A proximity mine gift box.
The heroes on the other hand have all the moves and gadgets that Batman has in the solo campaign, but he’s not as unstoppable this time around. You can still set traps by spraying a walkway with explosive gel and setting it off when a henchman gets close. The environment will also play tricks on unsuspecting bad guys, occasionally spooking them with a swarm of bats or distracting them with flapping cloth that looks like the rustling of a cape. Which sounds awesome!
The objective of this Invisible Predator Mode is to secure three different control points. If your gang holds a majority of the control points, the opposing gang will lose a respawn every 30 seconds for each one you hold. Once a team has used up all its respawns, either by getting killed by the rival gang or knocked out silly by the Batman. Likewise, Batman and Robin fail by being killed too many times. After the battle has gone on for a while, Joker or Bane become unlockable. When activated, the first Gang member to reach his secret hiding place will be able to control his respective gang leader.
Each supervillain has his unique strengths and abilities. Bane is a bulldozer. Great in melee confrontation and soak up heavy damage from gunfire. He can even pick up an enemy and toss him as a weapon, or unleash doom with a rocket launcher. The Joker is deadlier at a distance, armed with two custom hand-guns – the Ace of Spades, an explosive hand cannon with tons of splash damage, and the King of Hearts, a one-shot kill weapon that requires more careful aim. When caught up close, Joker can give pursuers a lethal jolt with his Joy Buzzer.
If you haven’t marked your calendars yet, Batman: Arkham Origins will be out October 25th on 360, PS3, PC, and Wii U. However, the Wii U version will not come with this awesome online multiplayer.
Are you looking forward to this Multiplayer Experience?
