If you were a fan of the one-of-a-kind Platinum Games heroine, the pistol-heel wearing witch Bayonetta, then here is a bit of news for you! Bayonetta is set to make her silver screen debut this November!
Famous production studio Gonzo (Hellsing, Gankutsuou, Afro Samurai) has teamed up with Bayonetta creator Hideki Kamiya and director Fuminori Kizaki to create a brand new feature-length anime film. In the film Bayonetta will be voiced by Atsuko Tanaka (Devil May Cry, Wolf’s Rain, Ghost In The Shell.)
Bayonetta: Bloody Fate is sure to have everything that we’ve come to know and love about Bayonetta: lots o’ cleavage, action so off the wall insane it’s glorious, and the sweet murder of angels.
Bayonetta: Bloody Fate is slated to hit Japanese theaters on November 23, and will be shown at ten select theaters across the country for a very limited two-week run. Since there’s been no word yet on a English-language debut, keep your eye out for the unofficial sub when it inevitably hits the internet. For now peep the trailer to see Bayonetta in action, and check out the film’s site (if you, you know, can read Japanese).
What you think? Is the world ready for another video game anime adaptation? (And on that note did anyone see Devil May Cry?) Personally I would sooner watch this then buy a Wii U to play Bayonetta 2, but maybe that’s just me.
