Two new Cryptids are finding their way to Fallout 76. Bethesda’s Inside the Vault update for Fallout 76 has sparked interest with the reveal of the Blue Devil and the Ogua, ready for release during the Once in a Blue Moon update. Along with the new cryptids, new content plans include expanding the Blue Ridge Caravan and introducing a new NPC to the game.
Set to roam the wasteland of Appalachia, the Blue Devil and the Ogua will be introduced during Once in a Blue Moon. We hypothesized in our Cryptids guide that the Season 12 Scoreboard may hint at new cryptids coming to the game. We may have been a little off with the Blue Devil, as it’s similar in appearance to The Kentucky Wildman, but the images of the Ogua proved to be right.
The Blue Devil appears to be some sort of werewolf or large wolf creature. It’s known have blue-tinted fur and emits a ghostly howl. The Ogua is a large, spiney creature reminiscent of a giant snapping turtle. Both originate from West Virginia folklore. While the Blue Devil wasn’t given a location in the release, suggesting it roams throughout Appalachia, the Ogua is noted as residing in the Cranberry Glade.

Along with the new cryptids, The Blue Ridge Caravan is getting more content. They’ve taken over Middle Mountain Cabins but need help with all the creatures that call the area home in a new Public Event.
New one-off daily quests for Vinny Costa titled Costa Business will explore why he’s so fed up with his employees. The quests will reward Blue Ridge Caravan themed items but can only be completed once. Veteran players will be offered a special side quest, Unmasking the Myth, once Costa Business is completed.
If meeting Vinny Costa wasn’t enough, we’ll also get to meet Luca Costa, Vinny’s nephew. Having lost his explosive cargo to Cultists, you’ll need to track it down in the woods. The Cultists warn there’s something strange in the woods, however. Is this where the Blue Devil makes its home?
If all this amazing content has set your wastelander heart ablaze, you can test it out on the Public Test Server before it goes live during the Once in a Blue Moon update. Once we have more information about the Blue Devil and Ogua, we’ll make sure to update our Cryptid Guide. For other helpful Appalachian assistance, check out our Fallout 76 guides vault.
