In addition to their Maryland HQ, Bethesda has opened a new development studio in Montreal, Canada. The core team will consist of 40 developers, spearheaded by Yves Lachance—former studio head of Behaviour Interactive and developer of games like Wet and Fallout Shelter. It is unknown at the time what the studio would be developing. Maybe Elder Scrolls 6 or possibly a new IP altogether?
Heading over to ZeniMax Media’s career page, they are Montreal job listings ranging from Engine Programmer to Human Resources Manager. Here’s a quick blurb from the job description of Engine Programmer:
Bethesda Game Studios is looking for talented Senior Engine Programmers to join our team that is pushing the bleeding-edge of RPG development for the PC and consoles.
This could easily be a generic listing for all Bethesda Game Studios’ listings. Also along the requirements, console development on PS4 and Xbox One is preferred. Could the studio be exclusive to console development?
