Since Pokemon Omega Ruby and Pokemon Alpha Sapphire released last year, there has been no news or mention of a new game being in development. GameFreak has been releasing main series games yearly for sometime. So, to not have a date for a new game by now is unusual.

It looks like the long-awaited news is on the way, though. Pokemon’s main series director Junichi Masuda is slated to appear on the November 15th episode of Pokémon no Uchi. In the past television appearances made by Masuda have coincided with some sort of Pokemon-related news.

On the 14th, the day before Masuda’s television appearance, CoroCoro magazine will release its November issue. It is likely that more information and reveals about Masuda’s announcement will be available there. If there is any news coming in the foreseeable future it will be on these dates.

Fans should also look forward to Pokemon Go. A mobile game based on the Pokemon series developed by Niantic. The game will use location-based technology to mimic finding and capturing Pokemon.
