Have you been stuck with a name that you’ve come to realize that you no longer like? If you’re a Starcraft 2 player and are in this situation, you’re in luck!
Why The Sudden Change?
It seems there’s no real information on why Blizzard is sending out new name changes, but from what it looks like, it’s coming more often than naught.
Here’s what Blizzard said on how to go about changing your handle:
All StarCraft II accounts have been granted one free name change. If you’d like to change your character name, log in to Account Management and select your StarCraft II game license from your list of game accounts.
You can use the dropdown list in the “Character Name Change” section at the bottom of your game license screen to select a region in which you’d like to use an available name change. Once you’ve selected a region, click the “Use Name Change” button to initiate the request. After confirming that you’d like to change your character name, simply log in to StarCraft II and you’ll be prompted to select a new one.
However, for us lucky enough to love the name we’ve had since the beginning (mine has, and will always be, XsyLocke), we will have that little back up plan just incase we need the change. Just keep in mind though, If you currently have one name change in your “bank,” you will not be getting two deposited. Name changes do not stack, so if you’ve got it, USE IT!
Or, just be a hoarder like me and sit on one hoping that it’ll accrue interest… –content sigh–
How creative are you? If you’re going to be changing your name, let us know what your names are going to be in the comments below!
