Blizzard may be working on a HD version of the first StarCraft according to rumors. The remaster will be announced next month, followed by an extensive unveiling at BlizzCon in November, again according to the rumors.
The rumor originates from the Korean website iNews 24, which, according to Kotaku, is one of the better gaming sites in the region. The Korean website reported to have multiple sources confirming that StarCraft HD is in the making. The remaster will have the same gameplay as the original at a higher resolution and with improved menus.
iNews 24 reports that StarCraft HD will be announced next month during the StarCraft 2 world championships, with Blizzard making frequent announcements during the championships. Last year, the developer made a release date for the Legacy of the Void expansion for Starcraft 2 and they showed a trailer.
An extensive revealing of StarCraft HD will be shown during BlizzCon, held in California on 4th and 5th November.
StarCraft is one of the most popular strategy games ever, especially in South Korea; where even 18 years after its release, the game is still in the top ten most played games in the regions Internet cafes.
