Before Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night launched, we got Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon, an 8-bit throwback to classic Castlevania games. Now we know that we’re getting a sequel, Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon 2, which is set for release sometime soon for PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.

Curse of the Moon 2 stars two familiar characters and two new ones. Zangetsu (Curse of the Moon, Ritual of the Night) and Dominique (RotN) are two of the game’s playable characters, while Robert, a sniper who uses a wide-ranging arsenal to take out foes from afar, and Hachi, a Corgi using a magic suit of armor to squash foes, round out the roster.

There were no transformation powers shown in the trailer, but we’ll see if those reappear as we learn more, hopefully, later this year.

So far, there’s no word on a sequel to Ritual of the Night. Whereas Curse of the Moon was a companion title to RotN, Curse of the Moon 2 is currently a standalone game brought forth thanks to the first one’s popularity. However, series creator Koji Igarashi has said in the past that he would like to make Bloodstained into a larger series.

We’re big fans of Bloodstained and will definitely be keeping an eye on this. Stay tuned to GameSkinny for more Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon 2 news as it develops.
