If there was a console franchise that could use a multiplayer beta, it is Call of Duty. As a goliath of the multiplayer arena shooter, the essentials for a sucessful release require one thing: a lasting multiplayer experience. As of today, all PlayStation 4 owners can download the multiplayer beta for the latest installment, Call of Duty: Black Ops III, until August 24th.
As the starting point for the new exclusivity deal with Sony, this marks the first instance of timed content for the series that is not on an iteration of the Xbox. Xbox One and PC players can expect to jump into the beta on August 25th through the 30th.
Is the newest installment more of the same?
Newcomers to the beta can expect a level cap of 34 with four maps and several game modes to try out before the games release on November 6, 2015. Check back as the release date closes in, as Treyarch will surely reveal details about the campaign and the coveted zombies mode.
