The original Capcom vs. SNK was one of my favorite Dreamcast games, despite its balance issues. The second game was initially released in North America on the PlayStation 2 and saw some major improvements over the original. Even today, it’s well-worth the time of any fighting fan. So why hasn’t Capcom vs. SNK 2 hit the NA PSN yet?
Capcom vs. SNK 2 was re-released on the Japanese PlayStation Network earlier this year, and it’s understandable that fans want to know when it will be making its way to other parts of the world.
Capcom’s Christian Svensson replied to an inquiry about both CvSNK2 and Capcom Fighting Jam on the official forums, which asked when the two games would be heading to the North American PSN:
Eventually. The timing will be quite different though from Japan. More news will come “next year”.
It’s great to see that Capcom won’t be ignoring us in getting these two great fighting games — though Capcom vs. SNK 2 in particular is the star of the show, being widely regarded as one of the best fighting games of all time.
