“Cat Mario” Makes An Appearance in Super Mario 3D World for Wii U

Mario (and friends) are back in this new 3D adventure for the Wii U!

No, I’m not referring to that extremely difficult free online flash game modeled after the NES Super Mario Bros.

Nintendo President Satoru Iwata just revealed the upcoming 3D Mario adventure for the Wii U titled, Super Mario 3D World, during the Nintendo Direct presentation this morning. 

 

For the first time, four-player multiplayer will be available in a 3D platforming world! Players will be able to choose from Mario, Luigi, Peach, and Toad, and work competitively or cooperatively in exploring the vibrant levels of Super Mario 3D World! Each character will possess a unique ability that players may use to their advantage, for example: Peach is able to float for a short period of time, Toad runs faster than the other characters.

Mario and his friends will also be able to use a new power-up to transform…into a cat!

Super Mario 3D World is set for release on Wii U this December!
