CESA (Computer Entertainment Supplier’s Association) has revealed the main visual for Tokyo Game Show 2016. It was created by Ippei Gyoubu, who has been working on visuals of TGS since 2010.
This year’s keyword is “Press Start to Play the Future” in English. In the Japanese version, the message displayed is: “Entertainment changes. Future changes.”
The illustrator has commented on this visual and the choice in tagline, saying that:
“The game world is moving from monitors to headsets, and at some point gamers will probably even remove the headset. Is that world real or unreal? Games are creating the whole different concept of the world! The Tokyo Game Show has continually delivered to us the history of those revolutions, and is turning 20 this year. I can’t wait to go see a new revolution.”
The character shown on the main visual will be the symbol for TGS 2016, and will appear in diverse parts during the event.
Meanwhile, VR area will be newly starting this year, showing several VR related products and titles. TGS 2016 will take place from September 15 to September 18, at the Makuhari Messe in the Mihama-ku of Chiba.
