Some big changes are coming to Destiny this week, which will change the experience of the game to an extent.
When the 1.0.2 patch goes live sometime this week, Bungie announced several changes coming to the Cryptarch, activity changes, and as well as item changes.
When players would find a legendary engram, it became very frustrating when it would almost always decode into lower quality rare items. To the joy of Destiny players everywhere, with the release of this new patch that experience is a thing of the past. In the patch notes released last week, it was revealed that 3 major changes are coming to the Cryptarch, which are:
- Legendary Engrams will always produce Legendary or better quality items, including materials or Exotics.
- Rare Engrams will always produce Rare or better quality items.
- Rare engrams have a better chance of producing Legendary quality items.
The frustrations of gamers who are having trouble obtaining legendary items will be relieved to hear this news as well. Bungie also revealed that playing either Vanguard: Tiger, Daily Heroics or Weekly Heroics playlist activities, will have a higher chance of including both Rare and Legendary quality items along with the already existing rewards.
There are also a few minimal, but important changes coming to items as well. Ascendant materials have been promoted to legendary, in order to closely associate them with the gear they are used to upgrade.
Players must be sure to decode any of their engrams that they possess before the patch goes live as well. When the patch goes into effect, any legendary engrams that are not decoded will be officially demoted to a rare engram. I mean this isn’t really too big of a deal, because you know for a fact it will turn into a rare anyway.
