Currently, according to my source, China has been going through a 13-year ban on foreign gaming consoles. This banning might be removed when certain specifics have been met. The specifics state that companies such as Sony, Nintendo, and Microsoft, need to manufacture their products in the free trade zone of Shanghai.
Lifting the ban this could stimulate the Chinese economoy exponentially. To begin selling their products in the free trade zone, cultural authorities must approve them. The cultural authorities will view the games and make sure they aren’t too violent for younger people, and approve them for sale.
The ban was put into effect in June 2000 due to the games that were violent, seen as unhealthy and could hurt the younger crowd.
This could also open up much oppertunity for Sony, Nintendo, and Microsoft. They will be able to sell and create new games for an entire new crowd. More money, more ideas.
