Double, double, trouble?
Counter Logic Gaming is once again fined for poaching other players offseason. With the intent for more just friendly conversation, it is believed that CLG had struck deals with the players to play under CLG’s team, despite it being illegal to do so. Riot Games has fined not only CLG, but also Yiliang “DoubleLift” Peng for approaching former Dignitas top laner Darshan “ZionSpartan” Upadhyaya who has recently joined the team on Nov. 7.
Doublelift will not only have to pay $2,500 in fines, but Counter Logic Gaming also must pay $2,000 and play without ZionSpartan for the first week of the LCS.
This is not the first time CLG and Doublelift have beened fined. Back in December, the team was fined $10,000 for illegally contacting William “Scarra” Li.
Whether or not there was foul play among the teams, CLG must pay the fines for poaching other players. Down $12,500, CLG will not only have to play without ZionSparten, but also without their coach, Scarra.
Scarra has been banned for the first three weeks and is unable to contribute any sort of help or strategizing.
How will CLG do in the LCS without their new coach and Top lane? Perhaps they should have thought about such things more carefully…
