Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 just released its beta earlier this week for the PlayStation 4, and today they’ll be adding a new map mod along with increasing the current level cap.
The giant multiplayer game came out a day earlier than its expected launch on August 20th, with a flood of beta tokens to those who happened to pre-ordered the game. If you bought it through the PlayStation 4 store, then it was ready to download instantly without a token.
Content coming to the Beta
Since Call of Duty has such a large fan base, it’s no surprise that 10% of the players in the Black Ops 3 beta already reached level cap this week, calling for a level raise. Along with the raise, the devs added a new mode and game map to appease the players.
- Added mode: Uplink
- Added map: Stronghold
- Level cap increase: up to 34, with new items to unlock (VMP, SMG, Reaper Specialist, Power Core scorestreak, and the H.A.T.R. scorestreak)
The Black Ops 3 beta on the PlayStation 4 will run from the launch date on August 19th until August 23rd. From there, the Xbox One and PC beta will start on August 26th and run through August 30th. Using the insight from these betas, the devs from Treyarch should be able to perfect the game before the public release on November 4th.
