Some fans who preordered Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain on the PS4 found that their purchases were lacking the codes for key DLC content.
Multiple reports on Reddit and NeoGAF claim that some Metal Gear Solid fans found the promised DLC codes for Day One DLC and bonus exclusive Collector’s Edition content codes were not included with the entire package.
Luckily. Konami quickly swooped in and cleared up the issue via Facebook, confirming that the codes aren’t included with the physical package. The codes are apparently given either on the receipt for the physical purchase or via email.
The codes will be distributed in either format if the PS4 copy was pre-ordered from Amazon, Best Buy, Gamestop, Target, Toys R Us, Walmart, EB Games or Game Planet. If anyone has not received the codes, you can contact Konami customer support to clarify the situation.
It’s a good thing that Konami was quick on the trigger with remedying this issue, so this was only a simple short-term scare. MGS V: The Phantom Pain has received amazing reviews from multiple gaming websites and is hitting shelves on September 1st.
